Venting and Install Parts
The parts that go in with the heater: vent kits and terminations, condensate neutralizers, gas connectors, pipe covers and controllers.
Venting is set by the heater, not by preference. Condensing units vent in the PVC, CPVC or polypropylene the maker lists, often through one concentric termination that brings in combustion air and sends out exhaust; non-condensing indoor units need the maker's stainless system. Always match the vent kit to the exact model in the installation manual.
Condensing heaters drain an acidic condensate; a neutralizer cartridge raises its pH before it reaches a drain. Gas connectors must be sized for the unit's input. Outdoor units take a pipe cover to protect the connections.
